20 July 2017
As I mentioned before, with my friend Mike, we took an overnight flights from Edmonton via Toronto to London Gatwick. From London Gatwick we took EasyJet to Innsbruck. Innsbruck welcomed us with a cloudy and rainy weather, I guess, a sign of things to come.
We were welcomed at the airport by this pleasant gentlemen ...
... whose "sexy" shuttle made me very positive about Austria and her women.
The shuttle took us promptly to Mayrhofen, the main town of Zillertal Region of the Alps. The ride, if I remember well, was 30 euros per person, and took about 1 hour.
Taking advantage of the sunny afternoon, we went for a walk.
We picked up our "packages" (coupons indicating that we paid for our accommodations and half-boards in the seven huts of the trail).
We stayed overnight in Haus Oblasser, offering this view of the Alps. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. If I remember well, breakfast was included in our price, but we also bought our suppers there. The food was excellent. We couldn't wait for our adventure to start, but welcomed the opportunity to sleep through our jet lags as much as possible.
Day 2. Mayrhofen to Gamshutte.
