White Goat Falls (Nordegg)

... is short hike (3.1 km, +180 m) 45 km west of Nordegg. The Relaxed Group, consisting of Bożenna, Marianna, and this writer, did it on 3 August "just to stretch our legs." The hike was not without some challenges and overall quite rewarding ...

... as the falls happened to be quite picturesque.

The first challenge was that we had to cross the stream ...

... a couple of times.

The ladies managed it beautifully and we were all rewarded with the full view of the falls

Going back also required some courage.

After we bid farewell to Ewa ...

... who did Vision Quest Ridge at the same time with the very handsome, Nicholai, ...

... we went to Fish Lake ...

... where Nick got his first taste of the coldness of Canadian mountain lakes.

Not surprisingly, he barely could stay on his feet!

After we returned to the Shunda Creek Hostel, Bożenna threw a lavish party for the whole group (11 persons), for not apparent reason, out of the goodness of her heart. And her lasagna! I don't think I ate such a good lasagna in my entire life! Also, her French toasts the next morning were exquisite.

Some people like to go to the mountains alone. It has some merit. But I think much more enjoyable is  doing it ... with your friends!
