It was a warm, sunny day and another opportunity to see our beautiful Edmonton from the river. In about 3 hours we covered 16.2 km. The river seemed as relaxed as we were.
We started at Laurier Park Boat Launch.
As we were trying new logistics, that required 1 hour drive for me and Marian to Gold Bar Boat Launch, Mike and Elzbieta, known in some circles as "Pani Kierowniczka" had to wait for a while. Toward the end of this hour Ela was almost ready to divorce ... Mike!
However, as soon as we were on the water the mood of everybody improved instantaneously.
Marian, equipped to the point of excellence, was our leader.
When seeing the first high rises of Edmonton's skyline, Elzbieta became so enthusiastic that she even showed ... some legs!
We "admired" a few graffities, which some ambitious artists must have done while standing on a boat.
Our pace was leisury.
Mike even attempted a little nap.
However, he got excited when spotting a person looking for gold. This prompted a longer exchange between Mike and Elzbieta suggesting we should still organize "gold seeking trip" and perhaps "finally come to the millions" in this lifetime. I was recommending to them waiting for ,,, the Gold Bar Park.
From all the bridges in Edmonton (I photographed them in another photostory) the Centennial Bridge ...
... seems to have the most pleasing line!
Hotel MacDonald, one of the Edmonton's landmarks, is also always nice to see.
We were happy to see that Edmonton Queen has been repaired and ready to cruise.
Also Tawatina LRT Bridge has been finished. We didn't see LRT but saw many people crossing the bridge on foot.
With time, our minds have become more mellow, peaceful and content.
We disembarked shortly after Capilano Footbridge, with Elzbieta standing tall ...
I like your idea of looking for Gold. Since I am not having much luck with the ladies, maybe I should try gold next. Ha!
