Mist Mountain and Troll Falls - July 2021

Mid July adventure in Kananaskis
Part 1 - Saturday, July 17 - Mist Summit
Part 2 - Sunday, July 18 - Troll Falls

Part 1

Right after arrival in the hostel group started activities including card games and conversations

However the plans for Saturday hike made us to go to bed around 11 PM and everything went quiet
Quick breakfast, and we had to move fast to be at the trailhead just after 8 AM

Very soon we were strolling through the forest

Right after the forest we end up on the beautiful alpine meadow...

...leading to the col

Group reported on the col around 10 AM
(Michal, Joasia, Piotr, Beata, Andrzej, Yanek, Marysia i Ania)
Our objective for the day is behind the slab on the right side of the picture

Ahead of us is a long approach of the Mist Mtn bowl

And we thought that it was a difficult part...

It just began, long scramble to the top of the ridge

But the view was worth every drop of sweat

Summit shots, congrats Ania, Asia, Andrzej, Piotr and Yanek!

It is a long way down, but some scree skiing makes it faster

Strolling down

Clean and very cold feet
Ice cold water was our substitute for the hot springs

Almost back on the col and then the meadow
Beautiful view of the Mist Ridge at the back (highly recommended)

For some reason app recorded 5:44 hr moving time, but we spent on the mountain more than 10 hr

There was one more attraction on the way to the hostel
We actually spotted grizzly mama with 3 cubs (from the car window)

Part 2

Troll Falls

Quick hike to the Troll Falls before the ride back to Edmonton

Enjoying the morning by the falls

Everyone wants to take a photo

Prospect for the sexy men photo contest

Just friends having fun

Thank you all for your fantastic company and for the photos
Until the next hike
