Bow Valley Provincial Park is a small park near Exshaw/Seebe in Kananaskis. With the Club's Harpagons busy with more ambitious objectives, and with Relaxation/Yoga Group exploring the Hoodoos Trail in Banff, it was my pleasure to visit the park with the two outstanding ladies: Barbara and Dusia.
The morning was rather cool and windy, so we quickly hit the trail. Starting from the parking near Middle Lake, we walked toward Bow River. The trails were well marked and there was no problem with finding directions.
By the time we reached Bow River, Barbara and Dusia were in excellent moods.
From across the river, we had an excellent view of one of the most famous climbing walls of Canada - Mt. Yamnuska.
As our intention was just to stretch our legs, with no ambitious plans for the day, we had planty of time for picnics (Whitefish Day Area).
Dusia was happy to reconnect with Barbara - our friend of over 20 years.
Around Many Springs Lake, the ladies were ready to undress a bit, which is always a desired development for a male photographer.
Altogether we walked for about 8 km. It was a great preparation for the challenges of the next day.
As the park is rather small, and can be explored in about 2-3 hours, it is probably the best to visit it on the way to the mountains.
Having some extra time left, we visited the main street of Banff ...
... where Barbara treated us to some sweets and delicious French Press coffee.
Covid or no Covid, being in the mountains with these two graces was a great experience! Next year we will take Barbara to Cascade Mountain (in the background).
