Very busy weekend in Banff and Kananaskis

I am happy to announce that over the last weekend, 4-7 September, our club members were quite busy, making a few significant conquers. There were over 25 persons attending two camps in Banff and Canmore.

On Friday afternoon, a few members of the Banff Group explored Hoodoos.

In spite of some evening challenges ...

... Saturday brought a few nice accomplishments.

Barbara Flis, Roman Lipiecki and Piotr Zielinski scrambled Mt. Rundle, 2949 m, +1570 m. For Roman this was his third attempt.

Two other members of the Canmore Group - Marek Kucmierz and Witek Kurpinski - successfully completed Tent Ridge Horseshoe (12 km, +850 m) in Kananaskis.

Also the Banff Group was quite busy. Three persons - Andrzej Jedrych, Teresa Klimowicz and Mike Trzecieski (Leader) - summited East End of Rundle, 2590 m, +950 m. Barbara Walter and Beata Jedrych also participated in this effort.

In the evening we welcomed Gennady Sergiejev ...

... who soloed Mt. Lougheed, 3105 m, +1520m, that day. Very impressive!

On Sunday five members of the Banff Group - Piotr Rajski (Leader), Ewa Stroemich, Mike Trzecieski, Barbara Ulkowska and Barbara Walter - repeated the trail of Tent Ridge Horseshoe (photostory to come).

Gennady Sergijev chose a more relaxed goal - Ha Ling Peak near Canmore - 2408 m, +732 m.

On Monday the weather collapsed. It was raining and snowing. The Banff group, instead of Tunnel Mountain, explored the Cave and Basin, the place from which all Canadian national parks started. It was a great closure for the very rewarding weekend.

Hopefully, we will see more extended coverage of these adventures.
