While individual members of our club have been biking for a while, trying to take advantage of every opening in the weather, it was only last Saturday that we managed to collect a bigger group. We did a 17.8 km long trail, which I named "Picasso Flats," as it is mostly over the flat terrain and the participants can see the sculpture by Picasso. (clicking on the pictures allows to see the them in bigger size)
Mike arrived on his new, impressive "horse" while Jola and Yanek opted to rely on those "tested and true."
As it happens when men and women are doing things together, one could quickly observe lots of smiles and some subtle flirting. See Peter and Asia to the left.
Andrzej was in the mood for this kind of things as his tires were flat. Luckily, I had a pump with a proper attachment. We pumped his tires right away and he was ready to fly, if only behind his wife, Beata.
From my house "ruszyliśmy z kopyta" (we started with great energy).
Our first stop was in Donsdale where we had the first look over our magnificent North Saskatchewan River.
Naturally, in spots like this there is a great need for group pictures ...
... though personally I prefer to photograph women!
And so does Yanek:
After passing through a few very affluent "boroughs" ...
... we arrived at Wedgewood where Asia was the only one brave enough to take a picture with a dinosaur ...
... while Andrzej was the only hero willing to challenge Don Kichote!
Yeah, maybe it is not exactly Picasso ... but similar in a manner! :-)
In spite of the clouds getting darker and a few drops of rain we persisted to Woodward Crescent where the group had another look over the river.
The spirits were so high that toward the end of the trip all the girls, including Beata ...
... successfully negotiated "krzypopa" (a ditch) without dismounting their bikes!
Back at my place, we enjoyed well deserved burgers and beer/wine while maintaining the rules of "social distancing." There were no end to laughs, especially after we were joined by Ania, whose skills of telling jokes are legendary. (Unfortunately, no photo)
After everybody went home, I was still joined by Roma and Peter (also no photo) for a some good conversations next to the firepit. And this is what I call meaningful "fire purification!"
In all, very rewarding day!
Stay posted for more trips in the future!
In Truth, Simplicity and Love, Piotr.
Nice trip and great bikers!
OdpowiedzUsuńIt was such a nice trip and memorable evening.
