Cycling in the Rockies

June 08-09 2026
Takakkaw Falls and Bow Valley Cycling

It all started leisurely in the hostel.

Day 1

We all played around on the parking lot before the ride.

And then our leader appeared at the trailhead.
Ewa knew this was not a joke ... lets get ready.

And ready we needed to be..

Mike finishing the switchback.

Ladies feeling strong.

Our leader Ewa knew it was just a start.

It was not easy, but we all made it to our day one destination

Ewa completing the last leg

Mike at the falls

The Canada’s second-tallest waterfall

It was supposed to be "bez Yanka"... but Yanek made it after all.

We decided to stretch our legs on the short and lovely hike on foot
and leave our bikes at God's will.

Lovely afternoon with friends.

ditto..

It was much easier down the hill.

Much easier!

Oh well, we had a new furry "leader" for a bit, but we made it safely.

Finally our wheals "kissed" again...
or was it "bring it in Yanek's way?"

Coffee in Field at Truffle Pigs Bistro & Lodge was delightful.

Day 2

Someone...Ewa decided it was a two day trip... and it was indeed,
30 km in the mountains was not enough.

Fantastic team, beautiful views!

Mike around Vermilion Lakes.

Some of us decided cycle further. We added the Legacy Trail
from Banff to Canmore. Total distance for two days ~100 Km!
Congrats Borzenna, Basia and Yanek.

Takakkaw Falls and Bow Valley (1A) was a fantastic adventure!
Ewa, please, make us ride again.
Anyone, talk to me about Jasper to Banff (240 km) bike trip as well

Signing for our TL Ewa, yours truly Yanek.
