Photo-Contest 2022 - Awards Ceremony

 2023-05-06

Our traditional Awards Ceremony this time took place in Emily Murphy Park. The weather was excellent, and so were the humors of the participants.

The scene was prepared perfectly by Mike, with "a little help" of Dusia.

To say the truth, Andrzej and Mike "were showing something to each other," shortly before the ceremony, but it didn't affect the overall mood.

The first award went to Boris Bokov, and was given by Basia representing the founders of the Award "Mountains and the People" - Barbara and Witek Krzymien.

The winning picture was entitled - "Determination" - and was showing the heroic efforts of Gosia and Basia on a difficult scramble of Big Bend in Banff National Park. This photo also won Grand Prix Prezesa, and the title of the "Best Photo of 2022 Photo-Contest."

The next winning photo was "Mountain symmetries" by Ada Tai ...

... who graciously collected the prize from Roman Lipiecki, Sponsor of the Award for "Mountain Landscapes."

Dusia collected the prize for our Calgary friend - Barbara Ulkowska. Her picture:

... "Are you sure you know what you are doing?" - won the first place in Category "Mountain Humor" sponsored by Mike Alexander.

Bo Maciaszczyk's photo - "The Fourth Sister" - promptly won the first place in Category "Mountain Selfie" ...

... sponsored by Elzbieta Tomczyk.

A moment later Bo rewarded Mike for winning the Category "Sexy Man in the Mountains."

The picture of Mike taking a "Mountain Shower" left all the competition far behind.

Ania Kupnicka's Award for the Best Comment went to Zenka Kawecka ...

... while Andrzej and Beata Jedrych's Award, for "Video with a Twist," was collected by Andy Rutkowski, for his short film "Dancing in Sedona."

Andy also won Boris Bokov's Award for "Full Feature Movie" and on the wave of these successes announced that he will sponsor a new category "Mountain Shorts" in the next edition of our contest.

Asia Dumicz took the first place in Category "Pretty Woman in the Mountains" ...

... pictured here with Slawek, who took care of the musical aspects of our ceremony. The winning photo, entitled "Baltic Mermaid" ...

... was taken by Yanek Wojcik:

Bozena and Jacek Award for "Mountain Flora and Fauna" was won by Jacek Maciaszczyk. However, I didn't catch the moment of the prize giving as I was already busy ...

... photographing all the attractive ladies ...

... alone ...

... and with a dog!

The regular festivities ...

... eating, drinking and singing brought the 2022 Awards Ceremony to the conclusion.

But, hold on! That's not all! I made a number of interviews with the founders and the winners of the awards that will be broadcasted by CJSR this coming Sunday, 14 May, from 6 to 8:30 pm. You can listen to them on 88.5 FM in real time, through their streaming at cjsr.com/streaming, also in real time, or later on mixcloud. Don't miss it! There were plenty of beautiful things said!

The last, but not the least, Mike recorded a video from the ceremony, which is available at: https://youtu.be/xkDRIlz8pcw

In the meantime ... keep taking pictures, shorts, reels, and movies. Photo-Contest 2022 is over, Photo-Contest 2023 is just to begin!

Miło Was widzieć w dobrej formie i pełnych radości i pomysłów.
