Snowshoeing

 

Ashamed that we have not used our brand new snowshoes since we bought them last spring, with Mikele we decided to give it a try a few days ago.

The equipment really looked good. 

The most difficult part was to put it on. This is not so easy to reach for shoe laces, you know, not to mention these new bindings. 

However, once we managed this, walking on these snowshoes was quite comfortable. I fell only once and getting up was a bit of challenge, comparable perhaps to getting up after you fall on cross country skis. 

Mikele commented that we lacked a proper mountain background for our photos. He was right. 

This winter we both have too many injuries to take advantage of this most excellent equipment. But being "incorrigible optimists," we think there will be ... another winter!
