Foto-Konkurs 2020 Photo Competition

Dear Friends, it is this time of the year when we look at the photos and try to relive all these exciting moments of the 2020 Mountain Season. In other words it is time for our traditional ... Photo-Contest! A few of the sponsors confirmed to me the willingness to award prizes in the categories named after them. Others, didn’t withdraw. The exciting news is that we will have a new category – “Video with a twist” sponsored by Beata and Andrzej Jędrych.

 

It looks the 2020 Photo Contest will happen in the following categories:

 

A – „Ludzie i góry” – Barbara and Witold Krzymień Award – “People and the mountains”

B – „Górskie krajobrazy” – Roman Lipiecki Award – “Mountain landscapes”

C – „Humor górski” – Michał Trzecieski Award – “Mountain humor”

D – „Góry po obróbce” – Michał Kańtoch Award – “Mountains enhanced”

E – “Górskie archiwalia” – Yanek Wójcik Award – “Mountain archives”

F – „Górski selfik” – Elżbieta Tomczyk Award – “Mountain selfie”

G – „(Piękna) Kobieta na tle gór” – Marek Kucmierz Award – “(Pretty) Woman in the mountains”

H – “(Sexy) Mężczyzna na tle gór” – Bożena Maciaszczyk Award – “(Sexy) Man in the mountains”  

J – “Pocztówka z wakacji – Amaze me!” – Jacek Maciaszczyk Award – “Postcard from vacation – Amaze me! 

L – “Wideo z przekrętem!” – Beata and Andrzej Jędrych Award – “Video with a twist”

M – „Górska flora i fauna” – Bożena and Jacek Wojno Award – “Mountain flora and fauna”

K - "Najlepszy komentarz" - Ania Kupnicka Award – “The best commentary”

X - "Najlepsze zdjęcie roku" - Grand Prix Prezesa – “The best picture of the year”

 

Przypominam dotychczasowe zasady Foto-Konkursu: 

• można zgłaszać do trzech zdjęć w każdej kategorii
• zdjęcia proszę przesyłać na adres: rajski.piotr@gmail.com, w oryginalnych rozmiarach (zwykle nie więcej niż 2-3 zdjęcia w jednym mejlu, żeby mi nie zatkać skrzynki pocztowej)
• zdjęciu powinna towarzyszyć kategoria, do której jest zgłaszane i możliwie także jakiś tytuł. Jeśli macie problemy z tytułem, zostawcie to mnie – ja coś wymyślę.
• zdjęcia preferencyjnie powinny być zrobione od momentu zakończenia zgłoszeń do poprzedniego konkursu (8 grudzień 2019). “Preferencyjnie” dopuszcza jednak pewną plastyczność.
• filmiki w Kategorii L powinny być wcześniej opublikowane na YouTube (lub podobnym serwerze) a przesłany powinien być tylko link do filmu. Jako że jest to nowa kategoria, proponuję nie ograniczać jej czasowo.
• w kategorii E nie obowiązują żadne ograniczenia czasowe. W istocie im starsze zdjęcie, tym lepsze!
• głosowanie odbędzie się na podobnych zasadach co w poprzednich wydaniach Foto-Konkursu – głosujemy na trzy najlepsze zdjęcia w każdej kategorii, które otrzymują 3, 2 i 1 punkt. Jeśli głosowi towarzyszy komentarz, zdjęcie otrzymuje dodatkowy punkt.
• można głosować na własne zdjęcia (chodzi o wolność głosowania na to, co się Wam na prawdę najbardziej podoba)
• jeśli w kategorii zostanie zgłoszonych 6 lub więcej zdjęć, trzy najlepsze zdjęcia przejdą do Drugiej Tury
• punkty zdobyte w Pierwszej i Drugiej turze są kumulowane
• w przypadku remisu, o wygranej decydują fundatorzy nagród
• w Kategorii K o nagrodzie decyduje Ania
• do Trzeciej Tury przechodzą zwycięskie zdjęcia ze wszystkich kategorii. Tu głosowanie na najlepsze zdjęcie odbywa się od początku (od zera)
• Zdjęcie, które zwycięży w Trzeciej Turze, zostaje uznane za “Najlepsze Zdjęcie Roku” i otrzymuje Grand Prix Prezesa
  
  

These are the basic ramifications of the Photo-Contest:

• you can submit up to 3 photos in each category
• photos preferably should be sent by email to the address: rajski.piotr@gmail.com, in original sizes (typically no more than 2-3 photos by email in order not to jam my mailbox)
• photos should come with the identification of the category, to which they are submitted, and possibly with a title. If you cannot think of a title, leave it to me – I will think of something.
• photos preferably should be taken since 8 December 2019. “Preferably” allows for some flexibility.
• there are no time constrictions in the category E – in fact, the older the picture, the better.
• films submitted in the Category L should be first published on YouTube (or similar), with only the link being sent to me. As this is a new category, I suggest we void it of any time constraints.
• voting will be similar to the previous years – you can vote for three best, in your opinion, photos that will receive 3 (the best), 2 and 1 points; if your vote is accompanied by a commentary, the photo will receive an additional point
• you can vote for your own pictures if you like them the best
• if a category has 6 or more submissions, three photos with the most points will advance to the 2-nd Round
• points from the 1-st and 2-nd Round are cumulated to decide a winner in this category
• in case of a draw, the founder of the award decides about the winning photo
• in category K Ania decides about the first prize, possibly in consultation with the members
• the winner photos from all the categories advance to the 3rd Round. Here the voting begins from zero.
• the photo which wins in the 3rd Round becomes the Best Picture of 2020 and receives the President’s Grand Prix Award

Planowany terminarz Konkursu (planned schedule of the Photo-Contest):

·         Zgłaszanie zdjęć do 24:00 30 Listopada (submission of photographs until 24:00 on 30 November 2020)

·         Pierwsza Tura do 24:00 13 Grudnia (1st Round voting until 24:00 on 13 December 2020)

·         Druga Tura do 24:00 2 Stycznia 2021 (2nd Round voting until 24:00 on 2 January 2021)

·         Trzecia Tura do 24:00 9 Stycznia 2021 (3rd Round voting until 24:00 on 9 January 2021)

• Uroczyste wręczenie dyplomów i nagród (most likely) – najprawdopodobniej na początku Lutego 2021. Ze względu na zamknięcie Klubu Syrena przyjdzie nam poszukać nowego miejsca (jestem otwarty na sugestie). The ceremony of handing over the awards will take place in the beginning of February 2021. We will need to find a new venue as the Syrena Club, I am informed, closed its door permanently. I am open to suggestions.
